Hydraulic valves:
In mechanical engineering, a hydraulic valve, a device for controlling the flow of fluid in a pipe or some certain enclosure. A valve exerts control by means of a movable element that open, closes, or partially blocks various passageways. There are seven main valves type includes: Spool valves, Poppet valves, Globe valves, Gate valves, Needle valves, Plug valves, Butterfly valves.

But some valves work automatically like check valves, we also call it non-return valves, are self-acting allowing the flow in one direction. And other valves open at a presetting pressures, since the movable element often has a adjustable level or wheel, or a spring strong enough to hold the element in a closed position until a particular pressure reached.
